Internet sensation Grumpy Cat has died at age seven

Announcing that Grumpy Cat had died through complications from a urinary tract infection, the family acknowledged the viral nature of her fame.

They said she could not overcome complications from a recent urinary tract infection and died on Tuesday morning in the arms of her human mum Tabatha Bundesen.

According to her owners, Grumpy Cat, also known as Tardar Sauce, has distinctive facial features and a small size due to feline dwarfism, CNN reported.

Grumpy Cat, who sparked many memes, died at age 7.

It's a sad day, but if Grumpy Cat taught us anything, it's to smile even when our world is falling apart.

The book "Grumpy Cat: A Grumpy Book" reportedly sold more than 500,000 copies in 15 different languages shortly after it was released, the Hollywood Reporter wrote in 2014. She also had t-shirts, mugs, stuffed toys and books in her name. "I learned much from her and am deeply saddened and devastated to hear of her passing".
