'We're here to stay': Robertson vows Liverpool will battle City again

Liverpool have gone through an incredible season but finished second in the Premier League to Manchester City.

Liverpool's tally of 97 would have been enough to win the Premier League every year except the last two.

When Sadio Mane scored to put Liverpool 1-0 up against Wolves, the title was going to Anfield for the first time since 1990.

It was an exhilarating title race - perhaps the best in Premier League history - and Liverpool deserve huge credit for pushing City right until the very end.

They will reconvene on Monday for a week-long training camp in Marbella - as they did previous year before the final in Kiev where they lost 3-1 to Real Madrid - and Klopp says he will put his players through their paces ahead of the showdown with Tottenham at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Klopp did not seem disappointed by the failure as much as he seemed ready for the next season, saying: "The team made so many big steps in the past year".

By winning their final fixture at Brighton, Pep Guardiola's imperious City climbed to 98 points and rendered the Liverpool result academic. Or they will think: 'No we are a great side'.

Dorris has said that in addition to this bystander video, there is likely also video from the officer's bodycam . Turner is described as having a history of mental illness and may have been pregnant at the time of her death.

"It's incredible what they did all season and today with a odd situation", said Klopp. At that moment [when Liverpool fans celebrated Brighton's goal] it was a shock for everyone and Wolves were there.

He said: "It is hard to prepare a team for a situation like that - we score and Brighton score, stay calm". City were lucky in moments, we were lucky in moments. "We will go again but give me a few hours to get over that".

"And to be on this road and also qualify for the Champions League final, it's pretty special". I am sure we have learned a lot of lessons this season, and we just need to take that into next.

The ex-England worldwide told the Mirror : "I don't buy into the theory that Liverpool will automatically be Manchester City's main challengers next season just because they ran them so close this time".

So they are probably in a better position than we were in 2005 when we won the Champions League. But we can not ignore one team were better.

Here we compare our player ratings from the game with those from the Liverpool Echo, the Express, the Independent, Sky Sports, The Anfield Wrap, FotMob and the TIA readers.
