Johnson surges into lead at windy Hilton Head

World number one Dustin Johnson will take a one-shot lead into the final day at the RBC Heritage in SC.

Most surprisingly of all is the last, coming on the only par-5 on the back nine at Harbour Town, where after reaching the green in four shots, he three-putted from just under 32 feet for a seven.

He was one of several players unable to finish their rounds Friday at Harbour Town Golf Links after severe weather caused an afternoon delay.

Three-time major victor Jordan Spieth of the United States joined a pack on 137 by completing a second-round 66 before the start of third-round play in threesomes off the first and 10th tees.

Johnson's woes and Pan's impressive final round saw the Taiwanese player - who had five birdies and survived a bogey on the par-five 15th hole - clinch his maiden PGA Tour title on Sunday.

Ian Poulter double bogeyed his first hole but shares second with Lowry. But instead he played into the fading light as the wind picked up over his final holes.

Dennis Schroder also taunted Lillard with two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter by copying his "Dame Time " celebration. When asked about the dunk, George reiterated Westbrook's last answer in a tense news conference by saying: "Next question".

Johnson, runner-up second at the Masters last week, shot his fifth score in the 60s in his past six rounds here.

"It was probably blowing about 30 on that putt on that green so I had to back off", Mullinax said. "Hopefully, I can roll in a few putts over the weekend".

Returning from the lengthy interruption he carded a birdie on the fifth, although dropped a shot soon after on the 187-yard par-three seventh. It was just the second albatross at the event since 2007.

"It was a ideal shot", Grillo said. Sabbatini shot a 69. "It was flawless distance". "I really enjoyed playing in it a year ago after being away for so long". Poulter was among the lucky early finishers with a 67, carding six birdies during an 11-hole stretch.

Australia's Lee Min-jee and second-round leader Ji Eun-hee of South Korea were one shot back at 13-under. His second had round three-over 74, finishing at 4 over for the tournament.

Johnson hadn't played the Hilton Heard course in about a decade until entering this week's tournament.
