Russell Wilson: "Hey Seattle, we got a deal" - signs record National Football League contract

The Russell Wilson question now takes a dramatic shift.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter's sources, Wilson's celebration is much-warranted, coming in response to having secured the most lucrative contract in the National Football League: "a four-year, $140 million extension that includes a $65 million signing bonus" that "makes the quarterback the highest-paid player in the National Football League".

The average annual value of the contract, $35 million, pushes the 30-year old Wilson, past Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers as the highest-paid player in the league. That deal had a $57.5 million signing bonus with $98.2 million in total guarantees. The pair continue to be relationship goals. "He believes there is still unfinished business and he is looking forward to pursuing that without having to worry about contracts and his future". The deal also includes a no-trade clause as well.

Wilson announced his record-breaking deal while in bed with his popstar wife Ciara, telling his followers: "Hey Seattle, we got a deal!"

Carroll said Jody Allen, the chair of the Seahawks following the death of her brother, Paul Allen, last fall, was instrumental in getting the deal finished. It also led Seattle back to the playoffs after a one-year absence, where that steadfast run orientation burned them in a loss to the Cowboys.

Leafs’ Nazem Kadri suspended for rest of Bruins series
The Leafs' lead didn't last long, as Bruins centre David Krejci netted his first of the playoffs at the 3:30 mark to tie it up. That cannot happen, not only because it is a frightful way to play the game, but also because the Maple Leafs need him.

They then teamed for a rendition of NSYNC's classic " Tearin' Up My Heart ", and it was a flawless dose of 2000's nostalgia. Speaking on stage, Diddy prompted the crowd to give its headliner some love, noting, "She's been through a whole lot".

This deal came literally at the last minute.

Russell Wilson could be on his way out, but that's only if there's a team insane enough to pay an incredibly high price for the former Super Bowl champ. "Time for y'all to go to bed".

When Goff signs his extension, it's possible Wilson won't still be the highest-paid quarterback. He has thrown for 25,624 yards and 196 touchdowns in his seven-year career. Though he's played through various injuries in his career, he's never missed a start since his rookie year, and he's played at a superlative level despite frightful offensive line play through most of his career, and some highly limited passing concepts. Seattle could have held onto Wilson through the 2020 and 2021 seasons by using the franchise tag, but the cost would have become prohibitive after that, and the notion of trading him before reaching critical mass might well have been broached. Just ask the innumerable teams in perpetual, and futile, search for their franchise quarterback.

The deal was apparently finished after four days of negotiations between the Seahawks and Wilson's agent, Mark Rodgers, who arrived at the team's headquarters Friday.

Wilson has shelved the stigma of short quarterbacks being unable to play in the NFL. Your dedication, consistency & commitment to the game never wavers.
