Ocasio-Cortez Mad at Israel for Reelecting Netanyahu, Threatens Cutting Military Aid

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, whose prolific use of social media helped her amass a national profile, said she's conscious of social media's negative effects and even quit one of the biggest platforms of all.

She told "Skullduggery", the Yahoo News podcast on Sunday that "increased isolation, depression, anxiety, addiction, and escapism" are the consequences of being on social media too much.

Ocasio-Cortez said she started her campaign on Facebook and that for a long time it was her "primary digital organizing tool".

In June of a year ago, ahead of her November election victory, Ocasio-Cortez said she would support impeaching Trump.

Ocasio-Cortez suggested her opponents "get back to policy" after Omar recently told a Los Angeles gathering of the Council on American-Islamic Relations that 9/11 was an event where "some people did something".

Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) went on to describe Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a "Trump-like figure" following his announced plans to formally annex Jewish settlements on the West Bank.
