Leaked footage shows Julian Assange skateboarding around Ecuadorian embassy

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange arrives at the Westminster Magistrates Court, after he was arrested in London, Britain April 11, 2019.

Ecuador said on Monday it has suffered 40 million cyber-attacks on the webpages of public institutions since stripping Wikileaks founder Julian Assange of political asylum.

Robinson says Assange has had "a very hard time" since Moreno came to power in 2017.

Ecuador's President Lenin Moreno says no other country had an influence over the decision to revoke the WikiLeaks founder's asylum.

Ecuador has claimed that Assange mistreated embassy staff, put excrement on walls, left soiled laundry in the bathroom and improperly looked after his cat, among other things.

Assange is now in custody in London while Swedish officials weigh up whether to reopen an investigation into rape allegations against him. Sweden is considering reviving the investigation.

Footage from Russian state broadcaster Ruptly shows Julian Assange, heavily bearded, being forcibly removed from Ecuador's London embassy on Thursday. More than 70 British legislators have urged Javid to give priority to a case involving rape allegations ahead of the US request.

Assange, who appeared much older when he emerged from the embassy than when he sought refuge there in August 2012, has denied the Swedish rape allegation, asserting the sex was consensual.

Moreno also reiterated the claim made by the Ecuadorean government that Assange's hygiene and behavior constituted an "aggressive campaign against Ecuador" from inside the embassy.

In the affidavit submitted to federal court in Alexandria, Virginia, prosecutors said USA military reports from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq included information about the "identity and significance of local supporters of US and allied forces in Afghanistan".

The U.S. indictment, originally issued in secret by an Alexandria, Virginia-based grand jury in March 2018, said Assange in March 2010 engaged in a conspiracy to help Manning crack a password for a classified U.S. government network. Assange traveled to Britain, where a court ruled in 2012 to extradite him to Sweden. In the meantime, he is expected to seek prison medical care for severe shoulder pain and dental problems, WikiLeaks has said.
