The top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks are heavy favorites to beat the Pistons in the first round of the playoffs, a series which will start on Sunday evening in Milwaukee.

Griffin has battled the injury for the past several weeks, getting pulled from the Pistons' second-to-last game against Memphis and missing the season finale against NY, games the Pistons needed to win - and did - to qualify for the last playoff spot. Griffin missed Game 1 of the series on Sunday, and the Pistons lost the game 121-86.

The Detroit Pistons might have their work cut out for them to battle back in their opening-round series.

Although the All Star forward is listed as "day to day", Goodwill notes there's a "slim chance" Griffin will be cleared to play by next weekend, which likely means his season is over.

According to Goodwill, Griffin does not have structural damage in his knee and it remains unclear if he will require any type of minor procedure during the offseaosn.

Griffin originally missed three games with a sprained knee prior to returning on April 5. Griffin and team doctors will decide the best course of action when the season concludes.

The Pistons were already facing an insurmountable task from the moment the matchup was set, but Blake Griffin's absence due to a knee injury only compounded matters further for Dwane Casey's team. He was acquired in a trade with the Los Angeles Clippers in January 2018.
