As stated by the report, Apple will continue to roll out three models following the screen technologies and sizes of the three phones launched in 2018 which are two OLED models (iPhone XS and XS Max) and one LCD model (iPhone XR).

Shares of Japan Display rose as much as 16 percent in early trade on April 1 and were up 13 percent at 78 yen as of 0211 GMT.

While the report doesn't specify which Apple Watch models will get Japan Display screens this year, it's likely that the deal concerns the next-gen models, the Apple Watch Series 5. Digitimes offers up three oddly-specific sizes of 5.42 inches, 6.06 inches, and 6.67 inches, representing a departure from the current 5.8-inch iPhone XS, 6.1-inch iPhone XR, and 6.46-inch iPhone XS Max, and suggesting that some significant design changes may be in store for next year.

If true, this would mark the first time that Japan Display Inc has moved into the OLED market.

The latest iPhone models launched six months ago, but many fans are already looking forward to the upcoming devices, iPhone 11 lineup.
