The Cliffs of Moher have reopened this afternoon, as the strongest winds of Storm Erik have passed here.
A Yellow rainfall warning is also in place for Donegal, Galway, Mayo and Kerry, with between 30-40mm of rainfall and some spot flooding expected.
On Thursday, the weather conditions were named Storm Erik by the Irish forecaster Met Éireann, with winds of 56mph experienced in Cork overnight.
Firefighters swooped on the scene before the road was closed.

Office Chief Meteorologist Will Lang warned: 'Where the winds are strongest there could be some disruption to transport, with delays and bridge closures possible. The latest update from Met Eireann has the warning for Donegal in place until 6.00 am on Saturday. Elsewhere, the Welsh and Cornish coasts could see winds of 55mph, while along the coast of southern England gusts could reach 50mph.
She added: 'It's going to be a noticeably windy day everywhere today.
"After easing for a time early evening, a further increase in winds from the west will occur later on Friday evening".
A Status Orange weather warning for three counties is in effect, with Met Éireann warning that Storm Erik is bringing wind gusts of up to 120km/h.
