Man Who Took Hostages at UPS Facility Killed by Police

One of the hostages had a prior relationship with the suspect, the prosecutor said.

A person answering the phone at the township police department says it is an active shooter situation, but didn't give further details.

Law enforcement officials have not yet commented on whether anyone has been injured by the shooter, whether shots have been fired, or given any indication as to his identity.

"He walked through the main entrance and he grabbed his girlfriend and started punching her", said truck driver and witness Ashram Hajomar. The suspect, later identified as William Owens, 39, of Sicklerville, New Jersey, was pronounced dead at the scene, the New Jersey Attorney General's Office said Monday afternoon.

Law enforcement agencies responded to the scene and attempted to coax the man outside.
