Lady Gaga removes song with R. Kelly from streaming platforms

Gaga´s apology comes amid renewed attention on allegations of sexual misconduct against Kelly, which were highlighted in a six-hour documentary series about the singer. The music video was shot by fashion photographer Terry Richardson, who has been repeatedly accused of sexually exploiting models over two decades and dropped by brands such as Valentino, Bulgari and Vogue publisher Condé Nast following these allegations.

Lady Gaga enlisted R. Kelly for the 2013 duet "Do What U Want", which appeared on her album Artpop.

While I'm very glad that Lady Gaga is openly standing behind the victims, is working to pull "Do What U Want (With My Body)" from streaming services, and is putting the blame on herself for allowing this collaboration to happen, we can't forget that this information surrounding Kelly can't be totally new to Gaga.

"I think it's clear how explicitly twisted my thinking was at the time", she added.

Kelly pushed back against the allegations in a 19-minute song, I Admit, released previous year, in which he said he was himself abused at age 14. Especially if it is against someone she has worked closely with. Only one big name celebrity - John Legend - appeared on the documentary, later tweeting: 'It didn't feel risky at all... Kelly has denied wrongdoing and in 2008 was acquitted on child pornography charges.
