The building collapse in the Russian city of Magnitogorsk before dawn Monday has killed at least nine people so far, and officials say 32 people who lived in the building have still not been accounted for.
In Russia, the death toll in a gas explosion that hit a residential building in Magnitogorsk city has risen to 37. Nighttime temperatures in the city 1,400 kilometers (870 miles) southeast of Moscow have fallen to about minus 20 degrees Celsius (minus 4 Fahrenheit).
The blast ripped through the building at around 6:00 a.m. local time (0100 GMT) when numerous residents were asleep.
The baby suffered severe frostbite, multiple leg fractures, and a head injury, however Russian officials have called the rescue a "miracle".
The ministry declared the operation by hundreds of rescue workers completed on Thursday, three-and-a-half days after a section of a 10-story apartment block collapsed in an explosion.
"The condition of all the hospitalized individuals, including those who have been placed to medical facilities in Chelyabinsk and Moscow, is stable".
