Apple Says 2018 iPad Pro Bending Is a Feature, Not a Bug

This problem occurs in both versions of the new iPad Pro. While that did raise some concerns about design flaws, they were quickly dismissed: who would just put effort into actively bending their own iPad in two anyway?

Prior Apple's statement, many users claimed that the small curve or slight bend was most likely formed gradually over the course of normal use.

The Verge writes, "According to the company, this is a side effect of the device's manufacturing process and shouldn't worsen over time or negatively affect the flagship iPad's performance in any practical way".

Apple adds that it has to do with the cooling process for the aluminium and plastic components of the iPad Pro, which undergoes some slight warping during manufacturing.

In its October event, Apple showcased its almost bezel-less iPad Pro which brings a revamped design and comes fitted with an all-powerful A12X chipset. Also, some found the bend to be there right out of the box while with some users, the bend developed over some weeks of usage of the tablet. But Apple does not believe that an iPad Pro that arrives bent is defective. Homeowners of the brand new iPad Execs can nonetheless change their authentic unit for a substitute inside the 14-day return interval.

Maybe the new 2018 iPad Pro's extreme thinness isn't a good thing?

Back in November, YouTuber JerryRigEverything posted a video showing how Apple's 2018 iPad Pro "folds like a piece of paper." The current iPads cost even third-party at least 830 euros for the top model with 1 TB of storage and LTE connectivity will be at the Apple Store even 2100 euros. The 11-inch device starts at $799, while the 12.9-inch model can go for $999 and up.

Apple received heavy criticism for the so-called "Bendgate" controversy with the iPhone 6 Plus.
