Mission complete: George HW Bush's service dog in final act of service

The official ceremonies honoring the late George H.W. Bush began Monday as his family watched members of the U.S. Secret Service carry his casket from a funeral chapel in Houston to a waiting hearse.

The 41st U.S. president's body is scheduled to lie in state there from Monday to Wednesday.

Mr Bush, who served as the 41st United States president between 1989 and 1993, died late on Friday at the age of 94.

Haslam had previously ordered all flags over state buildings and the Tennessee Statehouse be lowered to half-staff until sunset on December 30 to honor Bush's life. His body will then be transported by a special train to its final resting place, the Bush Presidential Library in College Station, Texas.

He will be laid to rest alongside Barbara Bush, his wife of 73 years who died in April, and Robin Bush, the daughter who died of leukemia at age 3.

According to Sully's Instagram account, he also spent a lot of time frolicking on the beach and playing fetch. Trump and the first lady, Melania Trump, are scheduled to attend.
