Klipsch launches 'The Three | Google Assistant' smart speaker

If you want to check the list of titles Google Assistant will read, you can do so here. Broadcast Messages allows you to, well broadcast a message to all of the Google Assistant devices in your home. The feature would work only if you have a Google Play Music subscription. Say "Hey, Google, add an Echo Dot to my gift list", to add an item, and "Hey, Google, what's on my gift list?" to pull the list up.

The Three | Google Assistant will be available in the United Kingdom imminently. Meanwhile, if you want to "encourage polite manners" at the Christmas dinner table for both children and adults, you can say "please" or "thank you" when using your personal digital assistant, and you'll "often be rewarded with delightful responses".

Klipsch has smartened up its The Three Heritage Wireless speaker by giving a new version of it Google Assistant voice control.

At this price, Google Home just got even more magical.

You'll be able to call Santa, too, just by saying, "Hey Google, Call Santa".

Alongside that, Google's rolled out a couple of other features. Simply ask the Assistant to play a song of your choice, and watch as synchronized lyrics appear on screen when the music begins. The feature was first announced at Google's I/O developers conference in May and it's rolling out in time for the holidays. The feature is built-in directly in the Google Assistant, but Google has plans to roll out support for Google Keep, Any.do, Bring! I don't have kids so I don't know if there's any option to specifically enforce the "please" word or their request will be denied, but do let us know how it works for you. You just say, "Hey Google, create a gift list", "What's on my to-do list", "Show me my last note", or "Add tickets for mom to my gift list", to name a few examples.

Another handy update adds a two-way talkback feature for Nest Hello doorbells, so you can greet people before letting them in. Moreover, these lists can be stored in the Google Assistant app. Pretty useful for quick timers and whatnot.

And in case Google AI ends up taking over the world like something out of a sci-fi movie, you'll have banked some good faith that may save you from Martian slave pits and re-education camps.
