Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman have made a decision to set up a mechanism at the leadership level to scale up the oil-rich kingdom's investments in energy, infrastructure and defence sectors in India as they met on the sidelines of the G-20 summit here. By a bipartisan 63-37 vote, the Senate opted to move forward with legislation calling for an end to USA involvement in the Saudi-led war in Yemen.

President Donald Trump met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, March 20, in the Oval Office of the White House in Washington.

After weeks of saying he had left the consulate alive, the Saudi administration later admitted he was killed there, blaming his death on a group of rogue Saudi operatives.

However, Pompeo and Mattis did not seem to convince senators, including some of Trump's fellow Republicans, who said they believed a lack of action would send a more risky message to the world.

Several senators said they were angry about the absence of CIA Director Gina Haspel from the pre-vote briefing.

The Senate move on Wednesday came in the wake of Trump's dismissal of an intelligence community assessment that concluded Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman most likely ordered Khashoggi's murder.
