At least one person was killed and several others were left wounded on Friday in Melbourne, Australia, after reports of multiple stabbing "incident", according to Australian police.
Police shot a man who threatened officers with a knife and he is in a critical condition in hospital, Victoria Police Superintendent David Clayton said.

The message over the loudspeakers says: "This is Victoria Police, please evacuate the area". "Police shot the male in the chest and he is now in a critical condition under guard in hospital".
No other suspects are being sought. At a press conference, a police spokesperson said there are no links to terrorism at this stage.
The incident took place in Melbourne's Central Business District on Friday afternoon when people would have been leaving work.
One witness said a man was stabbed in the face.
The street where the vehicle caught fire is the same one when in January 2017 a fatal but not terror-related incident when a man plowed his auto in to pedestrians at a high speed, killing six people and woulding about 30.
The Friday incident took place blocks away from Flinders Street Railway Station, where a driver plowed into pedestrians past year, injuring 18.
The Victoria Police took to Twitter to update on the situation.

"I didn't know what was happening there was just so much chaos and screaming".

The police and State Premier Daniel Andrews asked people to avoid the area.
Another witness said: "Big fire".
"I heard a massive explosion, the vehicle is completely alight".
