Fossil has just announced a new range of sporty smartwatches packed with features created to help you achieve a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

The watchmaker on Thursday unveiled the Fossil Sport, a smartwatch that will retail for around R3,000 in the United States (no word in SA pricing yet) that comes in six colours and has two standout internal features: the new Wear OS, Google's new smartwatch operating system; and the new Snapdragon Wear 3100 chip, which should give the watch better battery life and new abilities.

The Fossil Sport features a sleek, ultra-lightweight design and colourful silicon straps. The Fossil Sport Smartwatch is already available online and at partnered retail stores in the US. But the Fossil Sport at least sounds like it's not outrageously priced.

Unfortunately, Fossil is oddly cryptic about things like display size and resolution, although we do know you can choose from 41 and 43 mm cases, six colorways (gray, blush, red, light blue, neon, and black), and "endless" strap options in 18 and 22 mm sizes.

Republicans Ron DeSantis, Rick Scott Win Big In Florida

Fox News Calls Hannity, Pirro's Campaigning With Trump A 'Distraction'
Opposition to Trump proved to be more a motivating factor for Democrats than support for the president a factor for Republicans. Hannity and Pirro spent the night broadcasting from the rally while simultaneously hyping the crowd ahead of Trump's arrival.

We've seen too many smartwatches come to market recently with Qualcomm's two-year-old Snapdragon Wear 2100. One that's meant to make smartwatches more useful and support longer battery life.

With Wear OS receiving a redesign back in September, a few manufacturers have been looking to leverage the OS in new devices.

The $255 Sport runs Wear OS and follows the Montblanc Summit 2, the only other smartwatch housing the latest chipset, which Fossil indicates will help to extend the Sport's battery life past 24 hours.
