As fans will know, both Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul are set and filmed in New Mexico.

Not a lot is known about the film and how it'll tie into the Breaking Bad universe, but we do know that it centres around "the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom", The Albuquerque Journal reports.

Breaking Bad, the AMC drama that ended its hugely successful run in 2013, is now reportedly said to be getting a feature film.

According to the New Mexico Film Office, the movie "Greenbrier" will begin production in the Duke City mid-November through early February. Luckily, it'll be helmed by series creator, Vince Gilligan, so we can rest easy knowing the project is in good hands. It's also unclear is if any of the original stars, like Bryan Cranston or Aaron Paul, are involved in the new project, which sources stress will be set in the existing Breaking Bad franchise.

The Journal also reports that the project now has the working title Greenbriar - though that could just be a holding name.

Breaking Bad filmed in New Mexico for six years, and Better Call Saul had filmed there as well.

Hit US television series Breaking Bad may have achieved that rare feat - a ideal ending - but it doesn't mean that creator Vince Gilligan isn't planning to write an extra chapter in the drugs drama.

Breaking Bad had five seasons to chronicle the slow, maddening descent from suburban banality into criminal underworld for Walter White, a chemistry teacher diagnosed with lung cancer. Let us know in the comments. Gilligan created and has also directed episodes of Better Call Saul.

The sources say that Gilligan may direct the movie, and he'll be writing it as well as executive producing. Obviously, we'll be keeping our ear to the ground for further updates, and will pass 'em along to you as soon as they arrive.
