Drew Brees becomes NFL all-time yards passing leader

Click on the video above to watch as Brees broke Peyton Manning's record with a stunning 62-yard touchdown pass to Tre'Quan Smith in the second quarter of the New Orleans Saints' Monday night win over the Washington Redskins.

Before Drew Brees could blow kisses to the adoring Superdome crowd, before he could embrace his wife and children on the sideline, the Saints' 39-year-old quarterback had to shred one of the NFL's top pass defenses with ruthless efficiency. Brees hugged coach Sean Payton and his family on the sidelines.

Content that he still holds the all-time record of 539 passing touchdowns, Manning is informed that Brees is on pace to break that, too. To save time, he also congratulates Brees for passing the all-time touchdown record at a future point.

And, the previous record holder Peyton Manning sent him congratulations.

On a more serious note, Manning said Brees broke the record "the right way".

Another historic day in the career of one of the games' best.
