The flagship smartphone, affordably priced at $349 (£299), will be available for preorder starting tomorrow on Amazon, Best Buy, or B&H, and it will start shipping on October 28th in the U.S. and on the 17th in the UK.

And why shouldn't they?

HMD Global launched the Nokia 7.1 in the affordable premium segment with an HDR10 capable screen, Android One software and Snapdragon 636. This means the display supports HDR for better contrast and quality. Coming back to the Nokia 7.1, here's a look at what the latest Nokia phone will offer.

The first thing that stands out with the Nokia 7.1 is its handsome design and materials.

We expect the smartphone to perform without any complaints as it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor, which is a decent SoC in terms of rendering content and processing heavy work. You can also keep an eye on the official product pages linked above to know when they're available for purchase.

"Almost two thirds of videos around the world are viewed on mobile, which is why we've introduced our PureDisplay screen technology, to give everyone a premium viewing experience on a smartphone", HMD Global chief producer officer Juho Sarvikas said about the new handset.

The cost of the device will be $349 in the United States, which gets you the variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

Amazon increases minimum wage for all U.S. employees to $15 an hour
The median Amazon worker was paid $28,446 a year ago , according to company filings, which translates to about $13.68 an hour. The company announced that the minimum wage will be 10.50 pounds an hour in London and 9.50 pounds in other parts of the UK.

Nokia 7.1 will also benefit from free, unlimited Google Photos storage. The camera bump from Nokia's previous devices is still present but is also barely noticeable, protruding only by 1.152mm.

Nokia, quite clearly, is suffering from an announcement problem. Huawei and Samsung both ship smartphones with heavily-customised versions of Android. Android 9 Pie includes features such as adaptive brightness, adaptive battery, refreshed user interface, app actions, Digital Wellbeing, app slices among others.

On the back of the Nokia 7.1 is a dual-camera system that combines a 12-megapixel and a 5-megapixel sensor. Aside from the main camera, those are pretty average specs these days but you do get various photo modes including pro and bokeh.

Poco F1 also runs Android Oreo but with a custom UI layered on top.

It doesn't just look good, though: the curved sides ensure that the handset sits snugly in the hand, and make it easy to use the rear-mounted fingerprint reader without adjusting your grip or shuffling the phone about too much in your palm. Unfortunately, we weren't able to vouch for this during our brief time with the device. For selfies, there's an 8-megapixel camera up front.

Nokia is still pushing its "Bothie" feature that stitches together images taken simultaneously from the front-facing and rear-mounted camera. The first orders should land with customers on October 18, 2018.
