Black Mirror Season 5 Will Have an Interactive Episode

Netflix will be bringing an interactive element to one episode of Black Mirror next season according to a report from Bloomberg and confirmation from The Hollywood Reporter. Now, we know that Black Mirror is in for the same treatment, thanks to a Bloomberg report.

Despite the same number of seasons, Black Mirror has twice as many Netflix episodes (12) as Channel 4 episodes (six). The Shrek spinoff Puss in Book allowed the viewer to make several choices for the titular Puss in Boots, including whether he visited Sinbad or Snow White, and whether Goldilocks' three bears were friendly or antagonistic.

The first project of the new lineup is expected to be released by the end of this year, with an episode of Netflix's popular sci-fi show "Black Mirror". The fifth season of Black Mirror, Charlie Brooker's bleak-but-brilliant anthology series, has been in production this year - and it sounds like it could arrive before the end of 2018 is nigh. All 19 current episodes of the anthology series are now streaming. Video games have used this same method to open up sprawling stories that last for endless hours.

It remains to be seen how complex or complicated or intricate the options will be for the viewer, but a heightened customer experience and customer interactivity will certainly drive up the excitement levels fans have for the upcoming fifth season.

This isn't the first time Netflix has tried to integrate viewer interaction into its content.

This is about as Black Mirror as Black Mirror is going to get. That will be the real test, but for now it certainly seems like a good idea, especially when watching with a large group of people.

Despite a few outliers, Netflix's interactive adventures are nearly universally compatible with modern smart devices, and now only needs some universally appealing content to entice potential viewers.
