Gameday took a unusual turn for Buffalo Bills fans when cornerback Vontae Davis abruptly retired at halftime during Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Buffalo coach Sean McDermott confirmed that Davis stopped playing.

Davis wandered away from the Chargers game at halftime after strongly disliking what he saw (and participated in), but did his best to clear things up in the aftermath.

"Never have seen it ever", linebacker Lorenzo Alexander said of the retirement. "He said he's not coming out". Davis was drafted by the Dolphins in the first round of the 2009 National Football League draft.
