According to the reports, Henry Cavill said he didn't have the time to do the Shazam! cameo, so Warner Bros. wasn't happy with that at all, and they are saying they are going in a different direction with Superman including casting Michael B. Jordan.

In a short video, captioned "Today was exciting #Superman", Cavill wears a "Krypton Lifting Team" t-shirt, looking directly into the camera as a version of the Blue Danube waltz plays - a version which features barking dogs.

According to insiders, the development comes after talks of the actor's cameo in Shazam! did not come to fruition due to scheduling conflicts.

Do you want to see Cavill play Superman again? It's hard to know what to believe, so let's go through what we do know... On the heels of the original article from The Hollywood Reporter, Cavill posted to Instagram a video that was about as cryptic as his digitally removed mustache in Justice League was glaringly obvious. The actor starred in three films: 2013's Man of Steel, 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and 2017's Justice League.

Rashford will never be a striker at Manchester United - Shearer
Gareth Southgate gave a start to Marcus Rashford , a player now struggling to make his mark with Manchester United this season. There were strong performances all around, but it has to be said that David De Gea came to La Roja's rescue late on.

Meanwhile, Deadline is reporting that Warner Bros.' primary DC strategy involves a "Supergirl" movie, focusing on the Kryptonian character who lands on Earth when she's a teenager, which would require a substantially younger Superman than the 35-year-old Cavill. "As such, Cavill will join Ben Affleck, who isn't expected to reprise his role for director Matt Reeves' forthcoming Batman stand-alone film, as a hero on the way out". There are also no plans for a solo Superman film currently, but there is potential to revisit the character a few years from now.

Warner Bros on Wednesday said, "We have a great relationship and great respect for Henry Cavill that continues to remain unchanged".

Fellow Justice Leaguers Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman 1984), Jason Momoa (Aquaman) and Ezra Miller (upcoming The Flash movie) are still reportedly onboard for future installments. The carefully constructed statement neither confirms nor denies the reports of Cavill's departure.
