DeChambeau goes back-to-back at Dell

Tiger Woods remained at No. 26 with his T24 on Monday.

On a day when the temperature reached 91 degrees at TPC Boston with a heat index of 100, Bryson DeChambeau proved to be the hottest golfer on the planet.

You can see who Thomas Bjorn selects with his four captain's picks on Wednesday at 2pm (BST) - we'll be covering the announcement live on The Sportsman.

Woods was already set to go to Paris as a vice captain, but Furyk said he'll select someone else for that role so the 42-year-old can focus on playing.

United States are the current holders, having beaten Team Europe 17-11 at Hazeltine two years ago. He had not played competitive golf in a year, the result of his fourth back surgery.

Bryson DeChambeau's unorthodox approach to golf has prompted a lot of second guessing over the years.

Missing all four cuts in this year's majors and no top-10 finishes since June's French Open put Garcia's participation in serious jeopardy.

"It's been a treat to be around the Ryder Cup team, and to be able to have this honor is incredible", said DeChambeau, who has three victories in his past 10 worldwide starts.

Donald Trump: China 'not helpful' with North Korea
At their June summit in Singapore, both leaders agreed broadly to work toward the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula. Also causing snags is the resistance within the Trump administration to signing a peace declaration.

The 25-year-old laced his drive, but it came to rest less than 5cm into the medium rough at the end of the fairway and although he was only 185m from the flag, his second shot was impaired sufficiently by the rough to leave it well short and in the hazard.

"This is mostly likely my last chance to go over to Europe and to be a part of a winning US team in Europe". And lo and behold, I'm a part of this team.

DeChambeau followed a first-place finish in the Northern Trust with another win Monday at the Dell Technologies Championship, and he now has a huge lead atop the season-long FedEx Cup standings. For the continent to wrestle back the trophy these wildcards will be under pressure to repay the faith shown by their captain. The fourth spot will be announced on September 10th.

"It's going to be a great challenge because we know how strong the European side is and how well they play at home but it's a wonderful opportunity to do something I haven't been a part of in my career".

"I was little frustrated about 15 in taking bogey as I hit a really good putt a fraction too hard, made a 360-degree lip on me".

Woods added that, back in February, he had "not started playing golf really yet, but still ... it was a goal". I'm excited to be a part of this team.

Meanwhile, Tyrrell Hatton, Tommy Fleetwood, Jon Rahm, Alex Noren and Thorbjorn Olesenn will be making their maiden Ryder Cup appearances. Wallace birdied seven of his last eight holes to win the championship, his third victory of the season.
