Ariana Grande will perform at Aretha Franklin's funeral

Aretha's body has been on display in a gold coffin at the Charles H Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit for two days ahead of her funeral.

The famed basketball player will join such personalities as Detroit Pistons Isaiah Thomas, Bill Clinton, singer Smokey Robinson, Rev. Jesse Jackson, and actress Cicely Tyson. Several high-profile artists will perform at the ceremony, including Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Ronald Isley, Jennifer Hudson, Faith Hill, Fantasia and Yolanda Adams, according to Rolling Stone.

The 76-year-old singer, beloved by millions around the world, died of cancer on August 16, closing the curtain on a glittering six-decade career that made her one of America's most celebrated artists.

ET has learned that Thursday's viewing was initially meant to be private (for church members only) but quickly turned into a huge public event. A viewing at New Bethel Baptist Church on Thursday provided the public another opportunity to pay their respects to the late Queen of Soul.

The memorial concert, titled "A People's Tribute to the Queen", will take place in Chene Park Amphitheatre in Detroit.

More than 100 pink Cadillacs, a nod to her 1985 hit "Freeway of Love", will reportedly line up outside the church. She called the Motor City home for most of her life.
