Confidential emails will automatically have the ability to forward, copy, print, and download removed, so the recipient won't be able to make copies of your original email.

While the new confidential mode may be useful for some users, Google cautions it is not meant to completely prevent sensitive information from being revealed.

For users of the Gmail web client, Google's support page notes that confidential mode isn't available in the classic version of Gmail. If you choose this, the recipient will get a text with a passcode, and have to enter it to open the message. If you have the update app, open it and tap on Compose icon on the bottom right. After that, tap on the three dot menu on the top-right of the screen, which will then show a "confidential mode" option. But Gmail users today can use the new update to protect their messages instead of following in the grumpy footsteps of the cartoon cop.

It's worth pointing out that if you send an email in confidential mode, any attachments that go along with it will be restricted as well. You can also set an expiration date and passcode for a message or attachment that you're sending.
