Melania Trump’s Parents Just Became United States Citizens

Melania Trump became a U.S. citizen after entering the country on an Einstein visa for "individuals of extraordinary ability" in 2001 as a model.

The Federal Building also houses immigration court and the local offices of the Department of Homeland Security, and its subsidiary, Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Throughout his presidency, Trump has made a point to target undocumented immigrants, whether they have a criminal record or not.

William White, a 74-year-old actor, said, with his eyebrows raised, "I'm happy for them".

She sponsored her parents for their green cards, according to their lawyer Michael Wildes.

The First Lady became a U.S. citizen in 2006, after she entered the USA in 2001 on a coveted Einstein visa for people with "extraordinary ability" when she was working as a model.

During a bipartisan meeting with lawmakers in January, for example, Trump said, "Chain migration is bringing in many, many people with one, and often it doesn't work out very well".

"This golden experiment, these doors that are in America, remain hinged open to attractive people as they have today", Wildes said after the ceremony. Especially, since her husband, Donald Trump, has vehemently proposed ending family-based immigration, which he refers to as "chain migration". When Melania Trump began her modeling career, while still a teenager, the whole family sensed opportunity, according to those who knew them in Slovenia. She said the first lady's parents "are not part of the administration and deserve privacy". Just the other night, Fox News host and avid Trump supporter Laura Ingraham lamented how "both illegal and legal immigration" are irrevocably changing America. While the president never names Saipov, who obtained his green card through the equally maligned diversity lottery, which grants visas to people from countries that have had fewer immigrants, he has been known to detail the attack.

Snapchat's controversial redesign caused it to hemorrhage users

UAE could partner with firms for commercial space flights
NASA has officially announced the scheduled test flights for SpaceX and Boeing under the agency's Commercial Crew Program. SpaceX will fly an uncrewed test flight in November 2018 and another with astronauts on board in April 2019.

The plan, which Trump reiterated last week at a Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania rally, would limit immigrants like his wife to sponsoring only their spouses and underage children to join them in the USA - not their parents, adult children or siblings. Experts estimate that could cut overall immigration to the U.S. by 40% to 50%, if those green cards are not reallocated to another category.

The lawyer acknowledged that the Knavses had obtained citizenship via the very pathway that their son-in-law, the president, has so publicly denounced.

Under US immigration law, Melania's parents would need to have had green cards for at least five years before they could apply for citizenship.

The Knavses' citizenship ceremony was kept hush-hush around the Jacob K Javits Federal Building.

Presiding over the ceremony was NY district director of the US Citizenship and Immigration Services Thomas Cioppa.

In 1996, she moved to New York City where she worked as a model and met Donald Trump two years later. They married in 2005.

Mr Trump said during his State of the Union address "under the current broken system, a single immigrant can bring in virtually unlimited number of distant relatives".
