Fetus discovered by crew on plane at NYC's LaGuardia Airport, sources say

Port Authority police officers surrounded the jet on the tarmac Tuesday after the plane was removed from the hangar, according to photos from the scene.

The American Airlines flight, AA 1942, landed at LaGuardia Airport in NY around 10:45 p.m. Monday.

A dead fetus was found aboard an American Airlines flight out of Charlotte on Tuesday morning, said an American Airlines spokesperson who asked not to be identified. While pulling the paper away, they discovered the fetus's foot in the toilet bowl.

The fetus was between three to six months along.

The airline also told WNBC that the incident has had "no major impact to our operation this morning". Officials said a short time later that the flight was delayed until 4 p.m.
