"The Bachelorette" victor Garrett Yrigoyan offered an explanation and an apology for his past controversial Instagram activity during Monday's live season finale following his engagement to Becca Kufrin. Upon arrival, Becca tells her family that she loves both Garrett and Blake and while her family Googles whether bigamy is legal in the Maldives, Uncle Chuck reminds viewers that they saw Becca get publicly dumped by Arie last season, so it's all uphill from there, right?

"I got to see who he is, his heart, his soul".

Spoiler alert! The following contains details of "The Bachelorette" Season 14 finale.

But just when you were thinking that Blake was sunk, he and Becca had their last date, and Becca talked about how she'd been in love with Blake for a while and couldn't imagine saying goodbye to him. "Wait", she said. It was a no. Horstmann admitted to being nervous before meeting Kufrin's family, who said that he looked like a movie star when he was walking up to them.

"I came into this knowing I was going to meet a handful of men that came from different backgrounds and different walks of life", she told The Hollywood Reporter.

"What happened in the Maldives, it's lovely and it's brutal at the same time", the host continued. "I'm so shook, I'm looking into whether Barbra Steisand is cloning more than dogs".

"With Blake, there was an instant connection, and that just grew".

A visibly heartbroken Horstmann told Kufrin she was making the wrong choice. "That's the thing", she urged him.

With that said, Reality Steve reported, before the beginning of the season, that, though there were rumors Horstmann was the victor, Kufrin picks Yrigoyen.

Chris Harrison always promises a dramatic season finale, but this time he's not kidding.

When Horstmann proposed, he said that Kufrin constantly inspires him to be a better man.

"What you're about to see, no words can describe", Harrison said at one point.

She told him, "You have been the most solid, constant relationship and one that I could turn to anytime". Yrigoyen then stepped in with a practiced reply. He also said it was "tough" to see how his actions affected those around him.

Holding Kufrin's hands, Horstmann was practically speechless at first, saying that he didn't expect this kind of response. "She is all mine", Yrigoyen said to the cameras after slipping a Neil Lane diamond on Kufrin's finger. Then Uncle Chuck asks him, "Have you cried with Becca?" which sounds like something he may have picked up at a fire circle. "That's when I just started to question the longevity of it", she said.

Yrigoyen would then arrive on the beach, learning that Kufrin had chosen him.

Here's how it worked: Harrison asked a softball question about how Kufrin and Yrigoyen's life has been since the show aired, a clearly prearranged opening for them to discuss the controversy.

"We've gotten through it and I think, honestly, it's made us stronger in the long run", she added. "I had two weeks off from work just to focus on my body and myself".
