The Chicago Tribune quotes Fraternal Order of Police President Kevin Graham: "The city and the attorney general have set a unsafe precedent by granting these groups influence into the policy of the Chicago Police Department". "This isn't a widespread issue among citizens of the city".

Four more people were shot in a separate shooting at a block party in the same neighborhood of Lawndale just a few hours earlier, the Sun-Times reported.

"They take advantage of that opportunity and they shoot into a crowd, no matter who they hit", Waller said, according to Tribune.

The high number of shootings made it hard for both police and medical staff to keep track.

"What we saw this weekend, it just rips at everything that I believe in because I know as a city and as a neighborhood ... we can do better", he said.

Paramedics went as far as saying the city was like a "war zone", while police described it as being one of the most violent weekends of late. Five other victims were rushed to the hospital.

Eli Apple, former Ohio State players react to Urban Meyer investigation
Ohio State announced a special working group Thursday night that will direct the investigation into football coach Urban Meyer . Urban Meyer brought Smith, the grandson of late Buckeyes coach Earle Bruce, to Ohio State in 2012.

Two people were killed and 28 were wounded between midnight and 3 a.m., including at least 13 teenagers. The youngest victim was 11 years old. "I never hear people say these individuals out there on the streets need to stop pulling the trigger". Fifty-three people have been shot, ten fatally, since 5 p.m. Friday. Both men were transported to University of Chicago Hospital in stable condition.

The demonstration's organizers timed the protest to coincide with rush-hour traffic along the busy thoroughfare on the city's lakefront and then marched to Wrigley Field, where the Chicago Cubs were hosting the San Diego Padres. "Some of these instances were targeted and were related to gang conflicts in those areas". The victims range in age from 14-years-old to 35 years-old.

"If they shoot you, they don't even run", said one man watching police work the scene.

President Donald Trump's lawyer, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, tweeted about the shootings, blaming "Democratic rule" in Chicago.

Giuliani also mistakenly claimed Chicago has had more murders "than ever before" under Mayor Rahm Emanuel's leadership, misspelling the mayor's last name as "Emmanuel".

She proceeded to read of Giuliani's false tweet without adding any correction, despite not only having reported the correct numbers several times in the segment, but doing so while their own chyron had the correct numbers displayed right below the screenshot of his tweet.
