But cops say the rampage turned deadly just days later, when the sex offender and known gang member killed 62-year-old Pamela Johnson. He said Rodriguez may have been looking for someone. Rodriguez has been charged with two counts of capital murder for Johnson's death and the mattress store attack, officials said Tuesday.

The Houston Chronicle reports that Rodriguez was living in a halfway house, and was working at a nearby Tyson factory, before he disappeared from the house last week and never returned. Authorities say Rodriguez should be considered extremely risky and possibly armed and should not be engaged if you encounter him.

That same day, a METROLift driver was robbed and shot near a gas station, where the man was able to get help for himself, authorities said. He survived and was rushed to an area hospital.
