Torreira 'scared' about moving to Arsenal

The Gunners are close to completing the transfer of Uruguay International midfielder Lucas Torreira in the coming days and wrap up their transfer activity.

Following the defeat, Torreira was asked about whether his move to Arsenal had been postponed whilst he competed for his country.

Uruguay worldwide midfielder Torreira is set to complete his £26.5m (€30m) move from Sampdoria today after travelling to London from Moscow.

Although the Uruguay midfielder hasn't officially completed his move yet, all the indications suggest an announcement will come mere days after he returns from Russian Federation.

Once he has put pen to paper and completed his media duties, Torreira is expected to jet off on holiday.

With Granit Xhaka signing a new long-term contract, Arsenal can start to feel confident about the steel in their midfield next season.

The 22-year-old is yet to have a summer break after featuring for Uruguay at the World Cup.

The signing of Torreira according to David Ornstein could be the last major signing of the summer for Arsenal.

New Gunners head coach Unai Emery has been showing interest in taking the midfielder to the Emirates Stadium, but Sevilla have been calm despite the Premier League side's interest. "He played an important role last season and will be part of my plans this season", Emery said in a statement.
