The BJP was pulling out of its alliance with the PDP in Jammu and Kashmir, the party's general secretary Ram Madhav said here today. Terrorism and violence have increased in the valley and radicalization is fast spreading.
Officials told the news agency that the governor's call came just a few minutes before BJP general secretary Ram Madhav held a press conference in New Delhi to announce the saffron party's decision at around 2 pm.
It is untenable for the BJP to continue in alliance with the PDP in Jammu and Kashmir. Had it been for power, that time Omar (Abdullah) and Congress had offered us support.
Madhav said the freedom of speech, along with other fundamental rights, have come under threat in the Kashmir Valley.
"They are the victors here", said Jacob.
PDP president Mehbooba Mufti told reporters that her party believes in reconciliation while the BJP insisted on following "muscular policies" which can not bring peace to Kashmir.
In the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections held in 2015, the BJP won 25 seats and the PDP 28, in the 87-member House.
"State president Ravinder Raina, DyCM Kavinder Gupta and all BJP ministers including Ministers of States, and three other party leaders have been directed to reach Delhi immediately", the BJP insiders told Rising Kashmir.
"My father, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, was convinced that unless we involve the central leadership, leaders who are in power in Delhi, no government here will be able to deliver".

This March, the PDP sacked its minister Haseeb Drabu who was a popular interlocutor between the allies.
