Martial only has one year remaining on his contract at Old Trafford but, as with all United player contracts, there is the option for another year that would keep him tied to the club until 2020.
Speaking to RMC Sport, Lamboley said United wanted the flashy forward to extend his contract and did not want him to leave but they were yet to make an agreement.
Lamboley admitted that United will have the final say in the matter.
"Manchester United will have the last word and that we will respect the decision of the club, he will go to the end of its commitment".
While the agent was reluctant to discuss the motivation behind Martial's transfer request, he did hint at frustration at a lack of playing time.
Martial joined the Red Devils from Monaco in the summer of 2015, for a fee that could eventually rise to £61.5 million, according to the Telegraph, and he has since gone on to rack up 36 goals and 26 assists in 136 appearances in all competitions.
