Actor Vince Vaughn arrested on drink driving charges

Vince Vaughn was arrested early Sunday for driving under the influence and resisting arrest south of Los Angeles, cops said. He has yet to be releaased.

Though Vaughn's passenger's name has yet to be publicly released, reports say that he was arrested for public intoxication.

Vaughn faced an assault charge that was later dropped.

The arrest occurred at 1am on Sunday and is Vaughn's first DUI arrest. Vaughn was arrested around 1 a.m. PDT.

According to TMZ, the Wedding Crashers star and his passenger were asked to step out of the vehicle but were uncooperative and refused to get out. He was booked on suspicion of misdemeanor DUI and held on $5,000 bail.

Vaughn was arrested back in 2001 for a pretty insane bar brawl that occurred in Wilmington, North Carolina.

As an actor, Vaughn has a number of upcoming projects that have either completed filming or are in production.

A staffer at the Manhattan Beach Police Department told us that they planned a press conference on this, but the scheduling remains unclear. One night, he was at a bar with actor Steve Buscemi and screenwriter Scott Rosenberg. He most recently appeared in the film, "Brawl in Cell Block 99".
